Jack Nicklaus designed the 18 hole, 6103 meter, par 72, Gut Altentann course with spectacular continuity in holes and difficulties, and sheer efficiency. Golfers who have played a lot of Jack Nicklaus courses will recognise his style in the form of greens and bunkers. Located above Lake Wallersee in moderately rolling landscape, the course alternates between woodland and open space, featuring a number of water hazards; two lakes, stretches of water and marshes often come into play. This is clearly the most impressive golf course in Austria.
The facilities are excellent, there is a driving range, chipping and putting areas. There is also a children's playroom and the club house has a restaurant. Golf carts, trollies are available for hire and caddies can be arranged.
