 WE HAVE A WINNER!

Golfing Elite Competition Ends

The St Andrews Prize Draw ended on 31st August 2004. Many thanks to all of you who submitted an interest. We are glad to announce that the lucky winner was drawn on the 3rd September and the luck winner was Mr J. Dougherty from London.

The prize on offer was a luxury weekend for two at the world famous Old Course Hotel, Golf Resort and Spa with flights included courtesy of ScotAirways direct to Dundee.

With its parquet floors and panelled walls, the five-star Old Course Hotel, Golf Resort & Spa exudes a quiet and understated elegance. The setting is truly unique…sitting just paces from the fairway of the 17th ‘Road Hole’ of the Old Course - without doubt the most famous golf course in the world – the hotel enjoys spectacular panoramic views over all the links courses. This stunning international resort (with 134 bedrooms including 32 suites) is also within a stone’s throw of the beautiful, surf-swept West Sands and only a five-minute stroll from the ancient University town of St Andrews where guests can browse the galleries, antique shops or dramatic cathedral ruins.

The golf is extensive with an abundance of classic championship courses in and around the town including the hotels own Duke’s Course. Designed by five-time Open Champion Peter Thomson, one of the most highly respected course designers worldwide, the Duke’s is a heathland course on a classic Scottish estate offering 18 holes of championship play. The elevated position of the course provides glorious views of the historic town St Andrews, the vast sandy beaches of the coastline with Carnoustie in the distance.
