 DRUIDS GLEN

Golfing Elite is proud to present Druids Glen Marriott Hotel & Country Club, Ireland.

Opened in 1995 and designed by Pat Ruddy and Tom Craddock, the Druids Glen Golf Course is nestled between the Irish Sea and the stunning Wicklow Mountains, and situated only 20 miles south of Dublin. It was voted European course of the Year in 2001 and was also host of the Murphy's Irish Open from 1996 to 1999. This is an 18 hole, par 71, 7046 yard course which sits on a turbulent, well wooded, well watered property of 400 acres just south of the Glen of the Downs.

The course presents a pretty picture from the first tee, a beautiful sweeping par 4 of 445 yards across a gentle swale to a green lurking in the sunlit trees, to the 18th green which is an awesome target across three lakes which cascade over weirs, one into the other at the end of a strenuous 485 yard journey uphill. This is an excellent and often intimidating course, notably the 12th, 13th and 14th holes which are very hilly, but less challenging than they look.

There is a club house with changing facilities, as well as a restaurant (which must be pre-booked) and two bars which serve food and drink. In addition there is a pro shop which can arrange club/trolley/buggy hire, as well as tuition with the club professional. The club also has a driving range, putting and pitching greens available.
