As an ecstatic Arnold Palmer the course designer of Tralee said himself when he first saw the land where he was goin to create his course, "I have never come across a piece of land so ideally suited for the building of a golf course" and after he'd finished "I designed the first nine but surely god designed the back nine". This was his first European design.
Almost ten years later Tralee continues to mature and in time is a course that is destined for greatness. It is rare to find a course that that brings together so many spectacular natural, true links golf features such as wild dunes and sweeping views of oceans and mountains in totally unspoilt surroundings.
The course is considered to be tough but fair and an essential inclusion to anyone visiting the South West Coast of Ireland. The club house also impresses with first class restaurant and commanding views over the Atlantic coast.
