Established in 1893, The Royal Selangor Golf Club is the premier golf club in Malaysia and one of the best in the region. The RSGC, as it is popularly known, has a long and illustrious history and it has played a most prominent role in the evolution of the game of golf in the country. The RSGC consists of three courses; The Old Course, The New Course and Suleiman Course. The 45-hole golf courses are made up of two 18-hole courses and a short 9-hole course.
The Old Course is a 18-hole historic championship course that has hosted many international golf tournaments. This course is the longer and the more testing, particularly the 17th-hole, which is a par 3 over water to an elevated green surrounded by an army of Bunkers. The course requires a long and accurate drive, with many difficult holes. Many of the greens are well guarded by bunkers, and the fairways can be deceiving as they narrow towards the end.
The New Course is also a 18-hole championship course and the Suleiman Course is a 9-hole course consisting solely of par 3's.
